(Someone Else's) Hair Tutorial - No Heat Overnight Curls

I've already admitted here that one of my least favorite activities is washing my hair.  Don't get me wrong, I do it of course, but I can't help but feel like it actually makes me look worse, given that I never have the time to dry or style my hair on mornings I lather up.  Maybe that's why I love this tutorial so much - not only do you shower the night before, you wake up with the most glamourous, voluptuous pin-up style curls.  Now if only I could figure out how to wake up with my makeup done, too (short of Permaface, the makeup tattoos).  Here's the original video:

My cousin Genna and I have each done this tutorial more than once, and we both came to the same conclusion - the only note we both had on the instructions was that if you need to keep the front pieces of hair loose around the band when you begin wrapping, otherwise you get a little bit of a Shirley Temple effect around your face.  I think the difference in the video is that she has short layers around her face, so the curl ends before it starts getting wonky, as was the case for me and Genna, who has shoulder-length hair.

My mom used to do no heat curls on me using a pillowcase.  One of these days I'll share that here, but until then, you should give this one a try.  Thanks for sharing, lipstickdiaries!

  1. This was seriously fascinating. Personally I use the Top Styler (ceramic hot roller type things) twice a week.

    1. it's pretty cool. I have eyed the top styler before, but storage space is limited in my bathroom, so for now it remains on my "wish list". If you take a little time while you're wrapping, even the wrapped stage looks cute enough to go out in, so you could do the wrap during the day and curls at night. obsessed.
