Los Angeles: Help Me Plan My Trip

I forgot to mention I'm going to LA in a few days. I'm so excited to see our West Coast friends, but truth be told LA makes me break out in hives in the way only a sun-averse, gluten-loving, non-exercising mom of two can, not to mention I'm going to have to shave my legs. So long, winter fur.

Anyhow, most of what I know and enjoy about LA (aside from our friends, which is always the best part) includes baked crab hand rolls at Katsuya and lots of wine, neither of which my two kids will enjoy.  So, with that off the table......

What should I do with the kids in LA? Any ideas? I've heard LACMA's fun...confirm or deny!

Ps - Speaking of travel, in case you're visiting NYC soon, here's the proper way to hail a cab.

  1. We're going for the first time over the long weekend next week too! LACMA is also on my list plus I hope to be taco-ed out by the time we board our flight home!

  2. k wait, I know holdon has some sort of food allergy but I can't remember what...if it's NOT gluten, go to Pizzeria Mozza. I know, I know, you can make your own pizza just fine, and you have an italian hubby. But we went here, and it was awesome. Among other things, they have olive oil gelato which is delish, even if it doesn't sound like it.

Also, Topanga canyon is sweet if you can get out there (Eagle rock is a fun, do-able hike), and Real Food Daily is another great restaurant in Santa Monica if you want a surprisingly delicious fakemeat experience/experiment....which, you probably don't :)

    1. Ooh thanks Em! Pizza is a BIG hit at our house. H can't have eggs, which no respectable pizzaolo would use anyways, so YES to your suggestion. M isn't a big fan of sweating, so hiking is probably out :) Thanks for the rec, Mike will be pumped!
