File this under "Mom stopped washing her hair and all I got was this lousy sweatshirt".
I certainly wash my hair, just not every day, or even every other day, for that matter. After a few years of trying to coax my natural wave into submission, I've finally settled on a routine that works for my hair, and that routine involves a little grit. Deal with it. Or make a sweatshirt.
I had seen this picture (scroll a little) of that cute little boy sleeping with his cute little dog and decided I needed a similar shirt. Loud and proud. I drew up two options, shown above, and decided on the the one on the left.
I followed my old tutorial for making Hadley's first birthday onesie (which you can find here), finding all the straight lines for this project less Carpal Tunnel-inducing than all those darn shamrocks.
The aftermath.
For about two minutes I considered leaving the stencil as is with the exaggerated negative space but ultimately decided against it, although I don't think there's necessarily a wrong way to make a shirt about dirty hair.
Waiting for paint to dry....
Definitely one of my weirder projects....until you see tomorrow's. Hint: it involves teeny tiny people dancing. On my boobs. Sort of.
Where did you get the sweatshirt you used for this project?
ReplyDeleteI love it!
Forever 21!!!! :)
Deletehey, just wondering if you knew exactly which sweatshirt this is from Forever 21. It's super cute and I was hoping to try this with the same sweater. Thanks! x
